Sometimes because they’ve spent so much time self-medicating their drinking and drug problems instead of talking about them that they’re not even sure themselves what the real problem is. Usually, through group therapy session and one-on-one counseling they can figure out what the problem is and start to diagnosis it. Sometimes therapy in rehab just begins to crack the service. A lot of the things the addict has been avoiding they haven’t talked about and therefore a lot of self-discovery happens.
Drug Addiction Rehab: Copping To Everything
A drug addiction rehab will not be able to help an addict until they start copping to what they’ve done. If an addict comes in and says that they’ve only done cocaine but they are showing all the signs of a heroin addict there is no way for the rehab to help them until they own up to everything. Lying to the rehab staff will get you nowhere. They’ve seen too many addicts and therefore can see through all the lying and manipulation to the truth. The harder an addict fights the process the longer they’re an addict.
