Shadow mountain is one of the recovery school for boys who have problems with drugs or alcohol addiction. As a parent, it’s hard sometimes to know what exactly to do when your child is demonstrating signs of addiction. When is enough enough? As a parent, we want to protect our children from pain and suffering. It’s hard sometimes to believe that your child has these problems. You may have been in denial when a friend or family member noticed the signs and you didn’t. Or if the school dismissed your child until he or she gets help you might have blamed the school.
While no one wants to believe their child has a problem with drugs or alcohol, ignoring the evidence that’s been presented to you or trying to solve the problem in-house can sometimes make things worse. Your child will try and manipulate you into looking the other way. At first because of your love for them you may fall for it but you need to keep in mind that you are talking to an addict and when it comes to addiction addicts will lie, cheat and steal to get what they want.
Sending Your Child To Teen Rehab
If you have a child and they need to go to teen rehab you might be a little apprehensive about the entire thing. A lot of parents have trouble sending their child to a summer program like camp let alone rehab where they know they are going to be among other addicts. Sometimes there is the fear that you are sending your child to the lion’s den. Addiction has many different faces and maybe while you don’t think your child is like the other kids at rehab you need to remember they have an addiction problem just like them. Being among other kids that have an addiction problem can be very therapeutic for your child. It can help them heal.
