Teen Rehab: Is Sober College The Answer?
When your child’s drinking or drug problem has spiraled out of control it’s no longer a question if he should go to teen rehab and it’s now which one should he go to? Wilderness rehabs seem to be great rehabs for troubled teen boys because they get them interested in active in other things like outdoor activities, music and art. Sometimes your child has all this negative energy that he’s channeling into drugs and alcohol when it should be channeled into art, music and activities.
Sober College: Learning That Fun Doesn’t Mean Alcohol
What your child can learn from a sober college is that drinking and drugs isn’t the only way to have fun. There are so many wonderful, fun and inspiring recreational activities that your child can participate in that do not involve drugs and alcohol. At a wilderness rehab your child is reintroduced into nature. It’s not a reward to send your child to a beautiful, scenic place to get help. Sometimes it’s the change that they need and they want that change whether they are asking for it or not.
Substance Abuse Rehab: You Are Not A Bad Parent For Trying To Help
A substance abuse rehab helps parents understand that sending their child away to get help instead of sitting down with them and trying to help them themselves doesn’t make them a bad parent. It actually makes them a smart, loving parent. Some parents wouldn’t even send their child away. They’d ignore the problem hoping that it would eventually take care of itself. That way of thinking can end in disastrous consequences. A child needs to see that their parent loves them enough to do something about their drinking or drug problem.
