Daily Workouts
Exercise provides benefits on many levels - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually – all of these contribute to a balanced recovery lifestyle. A regular exercise program can boost mood and immunity, increase self-esteem, improve sleep and promote a deepened awareness of the connection of mind and body. Every morning our young men spend an hour with supervised workout activities in our on-site gym. In active addiction, self-care and physical health are often neglected. Physical health and fitness is helpful to sobriety and can be tangible evidence that your "insides are beginning to match our outsides." In other words, as our young men are working on the internal root issues and becoming emotionally healthy, their outside physical bodies are reflecting that change. Providing the structure for daily discipline in this area will foster a desire to continue this habit when they are on their own in the world.
