Fly Fishing
Fly-fishing is all about patience. It is a complex and difficult sport to learn. There is a lot of preparation that goes into just being properly set up long before one is even close to being able to catch any fish. This is not like bait fishing where immediate gratification can found without much effort. Our young men learn the art of fly fishing all the way from setting up their own lines to reading a river, various casting techniques. The patience required in this pursuit works against issues of entitlement and helps young men begin to appreciate the value of hard work. To be able to embrace these lessons while enjoying the beauty of life on the river is a real gift.
