Wood Shop

Teen alcoholism after care programs

The wood shop provides a unique environment for guys to work, developing a strong work ethic, while learning a trade skill. Many of our young men have a history of not being able to stick to a job/task long enough to overcome the inevitable obstacles. Our goal is to provide them with a hands-on experience in which we can teach them to view obstacles as opportunities. Whether repairing items on the property or working on a project of their own design, wood-working requires a great deal of patience, planning, and a deliberateness, taking it one step at a time...measure twice, cut once. For those dealing with addiction, these skills are either new or have diminished through the “quick cycle” that accompanies addiction.
