Shadow Mountain

Extended Care for Young Men

Nestled on 37 breathtaking acres in the mountains of Northern New Mexico, Shadow Mountain is dedicated to providing real solutions for young men transitioning into a life of sobriety after dealing with drug and alcohol abuse as well as associated behavioral health issues. As an extended care program for males ages 17-25, Shadow Mountain is designed to continue the therapeutic process for a young man who has completed a primary treatment program for substance abuse. Our young men must commit to a minimum of 90 days to expand upon the knowledge gained in their previous treatment experience. In addition, they will delve into the issues specific to men their age in early sobriety – mental, spiritual, and social issues that often become roadblocks hindering their ability to reach their passion, become independent, and live fulfilling, healthy, sober lives.

Our mission is to provide fertile ground and a healthy, loving environment for sustainable growth and change so that destructive patterns are replaced with healthy passions, showing young men the rewards of a full and productive life without the constraints of unhealthy escapism through substance abuse. We guide them to embrace active recovery through the 12-step process, leading them toward healthy lifestyle choices, spirituality, and meaningful social interaction. We encourage our young men to welcome change rather than fear it.
